of this comes the desire of Worship (verse 9). The reign of the Spirit (verse 10) consists in judging, not according to Appearances, but Right Judgment resulting from True Knowledge. Note carefully the Fivefold distribution of principles in verses 11 and 12: First the Great Polarity of Heaven and Earth (as in Gen. I: I): next the intermediary between the two, viz., the sea or “Water” (also as in Gen. I). Then “the Field” = the cultivated Portion the Individual Mind, whose attitude should be Joy. Lastly, “all the Trees “ = particular Ideas, which are also to be Joyful. And the cause of this Joy is the Recognition of the Spirit as controlling “the Earth” “They shall no more go out” is the description in Rev. and the reason is that in that day “that which is without shall be as that which is within,” i.e., we no more recognize Two — only ONE, and the distinction between Outer and Inner, Higher and Lower, will cease. The Truth is that Duality and. Trinity subsist in all Being; they do not exist. Existence is Unity. We discover the subsisting Duality and Trinity by Analysis, but Life is not in the separately analysed principles, but in the Synthesis which combines them into One. The True Worship is that of the Eternal Strength and Beauty, this being the Manifested Outcome of the Eternal Love, Power, and Wisdom. This Worship avoids everysort of Idolatry and leaves free play to the Self-conscious Evolutionary Principle in ourselves, while retaining it in the "Highest."
