23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

A deep esoteric meaning all through. It is the foolish — those ignorant of the Truth — who blaspheme and reproach God (verses 18 and 22). This school set up their own “ensigns,” or party pass-words, “ for signs” instead of the LIVING WORD (verse 4). There is a Spirit of Prophecy which leads to a correct calculation of Periods (verse 9).

Working Salvation is the Work of God — God is the Vis Salvatrix of the Universe, always working, and for this reason is King (verse 13). Darkness = ignorance, is the place of Cruelty (verse 20). Rising up against God results in tumult: it is the opposite of the Divine Spirit which is Peace and Order (verse 23).

UNTO thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works dedare.
