Negative is that the positive of Negative world is mistaken for the World of Positive and is substituted for it, with the natural consequence of self-will opposing self-will, the logical result of which is violence and oppression. When the Psalmist withdrew into the Sanctuary of God (verse 17), i.e., the innermost of the Spirit, then he realized the World of the Positive which made it all plain to him. It was ignorance that had previously disturbed his Equilibrium (verse 22), but now the knowledge of the World of the Positive restores the Equilibrium or Positive and Negative worlds (verse 23 seq.) to I. is Liberation and Rejoicing —it is Ishi and Hephziball.
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
