31 This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

33 For the Lorw heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.

34 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.

35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judall: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

Weeping and chastening his soul resulted in reproach (verse 10 seq.) and attracted corresponding conditions [?].

But as soon as he took up his right position of realizing the true nature of God as “The Ever-Joyous Life-Spirit of the Universe” and rejoiced with song and thanksgiving, then he found that this had a far better result than any offerings or sacrifices (verses 30, 31). By this seeking God in the path of gladness “your heart shall live” (verse 32), and it is just the Exceeding Livingness of the Spirit of Life in ourselves which we want to realize. It is a real Living Power not depending on particular Forms of Worship, but on the true Worship which is in the heart.
