To help yourself realize the power of the divine idea indwelling in your spoken words, it is helpful to precede an affirmation with the thought: "My words are Spirit, and they are life. They do not return unto me void, but prosper in the thing whereto I send them." This affirmation reminds us that it is not really the words that we speak that are so important, but the spiritual idea contained within the words that is important. Knowing this truth also gives us a new feeling of strength and faith and conviction about our true words, their import and their miracle-producing activity.
As a certain Truth student prayed faithfully concerning her loved ones and gave thanks for the spiritual understanding she was receiving through a Truth teacher, she felt suddenly impelled to speak a word of thanksgiving and appreciation for that teacher. Suddenly she said aloud, "And, Father, an orchid to this good teacher!"
