Gardner Hunting wrote for Unity in 1925 until his death in 1958. Working with God (1934) appears to have been his only book, though he wrote numerous articles for Unity periodicals. A Unity Digest article from 1934 mentions that he was born in Wisconsin. His father was a Presbyterian pastor. He lived in various U.S. cities and traveled in Europe, Africa, and Mexico. The article explains that he worked fourteen months at Unity School in the publishing department and edited Youth magazine, but it doesn't explain when. When he left Unity he worked for General Motors, General Electric and other large corporations. He also worked for Paramount and Eastern studios.
