IN TIME OF DESPAIR
Question—My husband passed on some months ago and I am faced with earning my living and I don't seem to be able to do it. Please advise me.

ANSWER—The aftermath of the passing of one's companion is often fraught with what appears to be insurmountable obstacles. Frequently, radical and fundamental changes have to be made in one's new adjustment to life and experience. There is great danger of becoming negative at such a time, and through the unconscious practice of a negative state of mind, attracting undesirable conditions into one's experience.
The treatment for you is to know that there is that within you which knows the solution to your problem, and that It hears and responds when you call. Become so sure of this that you will turn automatically to this Indwelling Comforter for the fulfillment of every need that you have. If you have honestly done EVERYTHING that you can toward obtaining employment, try to realize that no seeking is vain. If there are no apparent results at present, get the truth firmly established in your mind that your seeking is part of a divine promise. "Ye shall find" because you have diligently sought. You have opened avenues, and made contacts that will benefit you. (page 131)

In treating, follow this method:
Sitting quietly, clear your mind of every earthly need, and try to feel the truth about yourself—you are WHATEVER God is, in essence, substance, and power. Whatever It is that upholds and sustains the order and rhythm of the limitless Cosmos, is also the heart and core of your life. Once you realize this, no experience can rob you of the positive assurance that ALL IS WELL WITH YOU.

Say: "In this great One Mind, there is perfect order, perfect activity, perfect harmony and perfect ease. I, being a part of this Allness, am in my right place now, in my right activity now. I know with the Mind of God within me, that my problem is already solved and that the solution presents itself in my conscious mind for my guidance. I trust this guidance and obey it willingly, and it leads me to my right employment. I thank God for my living faith and trust in the unfailingness of His Love through immutable law in my life and affairs."
Do not despair. WORK at this on the plane of the Absolute, or Cause, and the relative, or visible effect, will manifest for you. Believe with all your soul that your problem is NOW solved, to your entire satisfaction. All the work in the world is ineffective without faith.
