NEUTRALIZING NEGATIVE MENTAL ATTITUDES
Question—I am a graduate nurse, but have grown weary of so much night duty and being constantly in a sick atmosphere. I have become negative and have no work. I still want to be active. I realize that I have drifted in a wrong and negative mental attitude, so I am asking for help to overcome this condition.
ANSWER—The work for you in treating, should be centered around the thought of right activity, realizing that there is no obstruction to right action. In your daily meditation, keep the thought-current focused on the truth that right activity for you is an established fact in Mind; that there is nothing between you and this activity but your thought; and that your Word now spoken for this specific purpose, clears your path of all obstruction and frees you. Realize that in truth you are never in a sick atmosphere, for there is no such thing in Divine Mind. Realize that your services soothe, lift and bless those persons who labor under false beliefs and experiences, and that nothing can, or wants to, hinder your services in this ministry.
HEREDITARY TENDENCIES
Question—My child, twelve years old, seems anaemic. I have a consciousness of hereditary tendencies as tuberculosis has
(page 110) been in the family. Could my thought affect him? Can we transcend heredity?
ANSWER—Yes, decidedly we can transcend heredity. Fear for your child in your own mind will communicate itself to his mind and should it become a fixation, he would probably manifest the weaknesses which you recognize as hereditary tendencies. A strong, positive mental attitude toward health for him, dropping and forgetting all thoughts of heredity, knowing that he is an individual of the new order, immune to diseases of the past which your family have suffered, will work wonders in your child.
Know within yourself that your child is really not your child at all, but the child of PERFECT LIFE under a PERFECT LAW and performing or manifesting in PERFECT ACTION, which is health. Talk it to him, think it for him, and for yourself, and talk and think nothing contrary and you will find he will be well. Know that your boy is God's perfect child—whole, s0und, perfect, complete and sustained in the ONE Infinite Mind—God.
