ATTAINING POISE
Question—How can perfect poise be attained so that one does and says the right thing at the right time?

ANSWER—Anything less than perfect adjustment will disturb that tremendous asset we call poise. It is within your power to say and do the right thing at all times. There is a perfect intelligence within you, that guides and directs you, and a perfect law governing you always. Take the time each day for a meditation on this great Truth. Know within the depth of your own being that your conscious choosing mind is the controlling power.

Say something like the following: "I know that the right word and the right act project themselves through me at the right time. Nothing can hinder my WORD from operating, and every situation in my life is handled with perfect peace and poise. I know that my word harmonizes into right action everything in my life, and that my word IS Divine and there is nothing that can obstruct or hinder it from operating in and through all of my affairs. I am perfectly poised in this great Truth, and I am ALWAYS master of any situation."

ABOLISHING SELF-PITY
Question—My sister has become estranged from me and as she is all that is left from our family, it grieves me very much. I seem to be walking in "the valley of the shadow." Although I have a good position, I almost go crazy for greater freedom and more companionship. How can I overcome this?

ANSWER—Self-pity can destroy every vestige of happiness for anyone; it has closed your eyes to the good all about you. (page 86) You alone, are the arbiter of your reactions to external conditions. And to free yourself from this sense of loneliness you must give up all those little things that make or mar the day for you, and realize that you are created after the Image of Happiness, a finished Identity of the unseen side of your life, with every attribute that goes to make up Universal and Personal Love. Love your sister more. Love everybody, and your natural companions will be unable to resist your attraction. "To have a friend, be a friend." Seek to help someone who is lonely, and you will find yourself needed—and fulfilled. Do something for somebody else if you would find freedom and companionship. "Give love, and love to YOUR life Will flow," and God will companion you through some avenue of expression, perhaps unknown to you at the present time, for Love never faileth. IT is the fulfilling of the law.
