HOW TO SPEAK THE WORD
Question—Just how would one know what word to speak in giving a treatment, as there are so many different diseases and ailments?

ANSWER—In giving mental treatments it is not necessary to know the exact cause of any particular ailment. Indeed, it is impossible to always know the exact cause back of any particular disease. While we realize that everything moves from mind to matter, from cause to effect, or from the invisible to the visible, it is not necessary to know the exact cause of any particular manifestation in order to remove it. Spend little time thinking about the nature of the disease and more time in the realization of spiritual perfecti0n; knowing that spiritual realization will find its own outlet for physical betterment.

DEFINITION OF ACTIVE FAITH
Question—"Faith without works is dead." What is meant by active faith?

ANSWER-A faith without works is merely a belief in a theory that you have not proved to be true. Active faith is the knowing, by experience, that your theory can be proved. When you can make no perceptible move toward proving that the universal good is yours, here and now, then is the moment for you to wait on God—to "keep thy heart (understanding) with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life." Prov. 4:23. Keeping one's heart high to the truth that God works in each and every one is having active faith. It is only by standing unmoved in a condition that one may be master of it. As long as the problems of life make one desert (page 38) the truth, just that long will that person find himself overwhelmed. You prove yourself stronger than the negative circumstance by staying positive to your Inner Self, and waiting patiently and with confidence on God. Such an attitude brings the desired results, and you have established your theory when the demonstration becomes an objective experience. In such case your faith has proved to be "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is an inner knowing. Faith IS REAL. It cannot die. Man loses sight of it in stress, but it ever waits for him to rediscover it, and to put it to work for him.
