WHY IS THE SPIRITUAL OBSCURE?
Question—Why is the spiritual obscure and the material seemingly so much more necessary in life?

ANSWER-The reason why the material has seemed more important to your life is because you could see only the material. You did not know that the very essence of the material thing you can see is Spirit. You have accepted mentally only that which you have known by your senses, not realizing that the thing itself, within the form you saw, was not and could not be discerned by the senses. Spirit surrounds us in people and in things—in the very atmosphere. But we miss all the joy and comfort of Spirit if we do not know it is there. When we look at the material world and realize its importance to us, WE ARE REALLY LOOKING AT SPIRIT IN FORM AND ACTION.

INCREASING ONE'S RECEPTIVITY
Question—How may one's receptivity be increased?

ANSWER—One can increase his receptivity through definitely saying and feeling the truth of what he is stating that, "there is that in me which knows, understands, accepts, believes, recognizes and embodies. I know and I know that I know. I believe and am conscious that I believe. I am confident of the power of my own word, have implicit reliance upon the truth. I expect the truth to operate. This truth that I know is made manifest in my experience." Thus one gradually becomes more and more conscious of a Divine Presence, Power and Law responding to his word. (page 26)
