WHY WE BELIEVE
Question—What is it that makes us believe?
ANSWER-It is the Thing Itself announcing Itself through us. It is an intuitive perception, it is the Mind of God. It is the omnipresence of the universe, the self-assertion of Spirit that makes us believe.
THE INDIVIDUAL'S USE OF MIND
Question—What effect has the individual's thinking in this Universal Mind?
ANSWER—The individual's thinking in this Mind causes It to impersonate Itself through him at the level of his belief. It is by a law of reflection that this takes place—a response which corresponds, as a reflection in a mirror. This is known as the reciprocal action between the individual and the Universal.
WORDS JESUS AND CHRIST EXPLAINED
Question—What is the difference between Jesus and Christ?
ANSWER—Jesus is the name of a man. Christ means the Universal Principle of Divine Sonship—the generic man— the Divine Pattern—the ideal toward which humanity evolves —the apex of individual evolution—the conscious union of man with God. Jesus was the Christ. Jesus became increasingly the Christ as his mentality increasingly perceived the relationship of the man Jesus to the Christ principle which is inherent in all people. This Christ has come in certain measures (page 10) of power throughout the ages to different ones and still does come and is ever inherent within each of us.
