heavens."
He said that it was like a treasure hid
in a field, which, when a man discovered
it, he would sell all that he had to buy.
The majority of Christians believe that
they are going to this heaven when they
die, but Jesus does not teach that the
dead go first to glory. On the contrary,
Jesus teaches that death may be overcome.
"If a man keep my word he shall never
see death." Paul taught that Jesus
attained victory over death. "Christ
being raised from the dead dieth no more."
"Let not sin therefore reign in your
mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts
thereof: neither present your members
unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness;
but present yourselves unto God, as alive
from the dead, and your members as instruments
of righteousness unto God."
The
Psalmist writes:
"What
is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest
him? For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor. Thou makest him to have dominion over
the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet."
With the mind of the seer, Ralph Waldo
Emerson says:
"Great
hearts send forth steadily the secret
forces that incessantly draw great events,
and wherever the mind of man goes, nature
will accompany him, no matter what the
path."
